2023 RIED HAGELSBERG
Grüner Veltliner
CarnuntumDAC
Stretching over gently rolling hilltops, the Ried Hagelsberg vineyard in Göttlesbrunn draws its personality from the chalky brown soil. It’s mainly influenced by the cool winds that come from the interplay between the Ellender Wald forest – which stores the cooling air that shapes the landscape – the Danube to the north, and the Brucker Pforte lowlands.
This Ried Hagelsberg wine owes its complexity to the chalk content from the lower soil layers, its ripe flavours reflect the hillside location, while the wine’s fruity notes come courtesy of the cool breezes that blow through the vineyard. The finely balanced synergy of these elements gives wines from this unique location their mellow, spicy aromas and refined personality.
